3 Things to Know About Acrylic Display Cases

3 Things to Know About Acrylic Display Cases

October 1, 2014

Acrylic display cases can be a great way to capture eyeballs in a retail environment. Whether or not you're looking for a countertop point-of-purchase display case or a rotating floor display stand, here are three things you should know about the world of acrylic display cases.

1: You Might Not Want to Use Acrylic

Acrylic is just one type of many materials you can use in your display stands or point of purchase displays. While acrylic is one of the more popular materials, it might not make sense for your particular unit and how you plan to use it.

For example, another material is called PETG. It's a thermolastic that is up to 200 times harder than glass! It's recyclable, one of the most durable elements we work with in a display unit and is virtually unbreakable.

At the other end of the spectrum is Styrene. We often use Styrene just for prototypes and injection molds, but you can certainly use it in your finished product too. It's super light and costs less than acrylic.

2. You Can Save Money on Acrylic Display Cases

There are a number of ways to save money on your next batch of acrylic display cases. For one, you should buy in bulk, as we can almost always provide volume discounts. Secondly, if you're flexible with your dimensions, we can help craft a design that takes full advantage over the acrylic sizing. Simply reducing your height or depth by an inch, for example, could save you hundreds of dollars on a big order.

3. You Can Customize Your Order

See something you like but want to make it your own? Or perhaps you've already sketched up an image you'd like us to take a look at?

No problem.

We've built so many different types of acrylic display cases over the years, that we're happy to customize your design wherever you see fit. We've seen it all and are happy to chat with you about your options. Once we have a good feel for what you want, we create a prototype out of our Woodbridge, Virginia facility and send it your way for approval.
